Generally I teach whatever material the student is interested in and tailor the lessons to suit their needs and requirements.
There are many ways to approach learning an instrument, often people want to learn pieces of music they are familiar with and may not be as interested in the formalities of learning techniques and theory that go towards taking grade exams.
However, taking grades can be very enlightening and give the student many transferable skills on their instrument and allow them to approach pieces they may previously have thought unachievable.

In addition to guitar tuition I can also offer guidance in the use of studio equipment and computer software for recording and producing music.
Songwriting and composition are my favourite elements of being a musician. I have helped many students to develop their songwriting skills and fine tune composition and arranging techniques.
